गलकोटको पुरानो र रमणीय भूमिमा स्वागत छ, जुन मल्ल (ठकुरी) वंशले दुई सय वर्षभन्दा बढी समयसम्म २४ राज्यको अंशको रूपमा शासन गरेको थियो। शान्त दरम खोलाको छेउमा र भव्य घुम्ते पहाडको फेदमा रहेको गलकोट एउटा सानो तर उर्वर उपत्यका हो जुन यसको हरियाली परिदृश्य र वर्षभरि चिसो हावापानीका लागि परिचित छ।
यो सुन्दर क्षेत्र ताजा माछा र स्वादिष्ट आलुको लागि प्रसिद्ध छ। हरिचौर बजार नजिकैको अचम्मको गाईघाट झरना नभुल्नुहोस्, धार्मिक र सांस्कृतिक दुवै महत्वको स्थल। गलकोट मगर र गुरुङ लगायत विभिन्न समुदायको घर हो, जसको प्रत्येकको आफ्नै गाउँ, भाषा र संस्कृति छ। उपत्यकामा ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय र दलित बासिन्दाहरूको पनि उल्लेखनीय जनसंख्या छ, जसले यसलाई परम्परा र सम्पदाको धनी टेपेस्ट्री बनाएको छ।
Welcome to Galkot, a picturesque valley once ruled by the Malla (Thakuri) dynasty for over two centuries. Nestled by the serene Daram Khola and at the foot of the majestic Ghumte hill, Galkot boasts lush green landscapes and a cool climate year-round. Known for its fresh fish and delicious potatoes, the region is also home to the stunning Gaighat Falls near Harichaur Bazaar, a cultural and religious significance site. The valley's diverse communities, including the Magar, Gurung, Brahmin, Kshatriya, and Dalit, contribute to its rich tapestry of traditions and heritage.
